Nova Arts Hub puts an emphasis on creating events that can bring joy to the Nova community, build our skills, and provide opportunities for community reflection. See below for a list of events that Nova plans to facilitate.

DIY Gallery Night

We know that the art sector is riddled with gate keeping and often makes us feel like our art will never be good enough. In the DIY Gallery night, you are invited to bring any artwork, cultural item, or quite literally anything you want. All participants will have an opportunity to display their item in the gallery and are invited to speak to the group about what they brought.

In hopes to build artists' confidence and give their art a platform, the DIY Gallery Night fills the Nova Art Hub with laughter, joy, and collective praise!

Facilitated Groups

Facilitated by the Nova Arts Hub Founder, Lajah Warren, Nova plans to host facilitated groups designed for reflecting and for knowledge-exchange.

These events give can give us a chance to learn from one another through discussion and art making. Each facilitated group will have different themes/ topics that will allow participants to further explore how art intersects with culture, community, and justice.

Some topics may include (but not limited to):

-Assessing the local art community

-Using art as a tool in activism

-Art and healing

-Recognizing the role of art in exploring or sharing our culture

Workshops

In the future, Nova Arts Hub hopes to work with local workshop facilitators to collaborate in offering workshops out of Nova art space! These workshops will be based on the desires of members active members.
