ON PAUSE.

This space was built as a home for art as resistance, healing, transformation, and dialogue. With that in mind, I am committed to creating a world where Songhees youth have the opportunity to have their work seen in all its joy, all its depth, and all its beauty. Their voices and creations should not only be prioritized in artistic spaces but in all spaces. Placing them at the forefront of Nova Arts Hub is a commitment to a future where young voices are at the centre of everything we do.

The artwork shared is a result of ongoing art actvities that Lajah does at Songhees with youth. After each workshop, their art is displayed at the gallery on a rotating bases.

The artworks are exhibited in the gallery and event participants are welcome to witness them during their time at Nova.

By witnessing this artwork, we are all invited to reflect:

How am I creating paths for future generations?
How do I make space for young voices to be seen and heard?
What kind of world do I want to build—and how does art help us get there?

Step in. Witness. Reflect. And most of all, celebrate these young artists and the worlds they are creating.
