BYOD- BRING YOUR OWN DRUM
Bring your drum and be guided through the process of transferring and painting Indigenous designs onto your drum (or canvas for those without a drum)!
Includes
- All paint materials
- 2-hour guided workshop + drum designs provided upon request.
Indigenous Engagement Fund → 1 Free ticket set aside for an Indigenous person who is unable to afford a ticket. Message us for more details
Capacity
Space for 10-15 participants - Pre-registration Required.
Participants must bring their own drum to paint on.
Extra round canvases will be available for those without a drum.
Dahlila Charlie is a Coast Salish visual artist from the SCIANEW Nation, based in Victoria, BC. Working in both Coast Salish art style and realism, her paintings and murals reflect the stories and teachings of her people. Trained by experienced Indigenous artists, Dahlila has developed a unique style rooted in culture and is passionate about sharing her skills to teach others.
As an artist in residence in local schools, she shares her knowledge with youth and community. In this workshop, Dahlila guides participants through her process of designing and painting on traditional drums, blending cultural teachings with hands-on creativity.
