MUSE NOVEMBER SESSION: HARVESTING INSIGHTS

WHY THIS EVENT

This year has brought many challenges for many communities. This gathering offers a space for spiritual and emotional harvest—reflecting on ideas, goals, and needs. Through art, we’ll set intentions, share space, and engage in independent art-making to prepare for the winter months and new year.

GROUNDED IN INDIGENOUS SEASONALITY

In many Indigenous traditions, fall and winter are times for reflection, learning, and connection with elders. Honouring these practices, this session includes prompts to reflect on the past year in a supportive group setting.

Event Flow:

  1. Opening & Welcome

    • Introductions, welcome, housekeeping info

    • Reflect on what it means to "harvest" wisdom from the year, and share intentions for the evening.

  1. Independent Art-Making Session (1 hour)

    • Materials Provided: Basic supplies like paper, pastels, pencils, and markers, encouraging free-flow creation (you are encouraged to bring your own supplies if you have a specific medium or vision). Participants will be invited to create quick art pieces that represent their inner harvests: their goals, lessons learned, or intentions moving forward.

    •  Prompt stations: Participants will move independently through the different ‘stations’ with different prompts focused on looking back this year. Some prompts may include: reflecting on the places of resilience, reflecting on what you want to let go of, creating hopes for the new year, creating paths for future learning, etc.

  2. Circle

    • Participants will work in circle (circle is an indigenous approach to sharing, reflecting, collective healing, and much more) to share any insights gathered through this activity.
