Carrying Her Fire: A Matriarchal Art Gathering

Right in time for Indigenous Peoples Day, join us at Nova Arts Hub with Dahlila Charlie to honour our matriarchs- both through discussion and our creativity!

As part of the Reclaiming Space, Reframing Truth project, we are honoured to welcome artist Dahlila Charlie to share her work, sit in circle with us, and guide a reflective artmaking activity. Dahlila will be sharing about her work; Matriarchs Dream, a powerful piece that celebrates matriarchs in Indigenous families and communities. 

This gathering will take place the day before Indigenous Peoples Day, offering a meaningful space to reflect on the matriarchs in our own lineages. Participants will be invited to join us in circle for shared reflection, followed by an independent artmaking session inspired by Dahlila’s work and the stories we carry.
